What two weeks in Bali couldn’t fix... 15+ years of chronic stress 😂

Hey sis,

I’m back, y’all. 🫶🏾

And I think I just had two of the best weeks of my life.

Two weeks in Bali resting, exploring, connecting, healing, and experiencing myself differently...

Only to come home and be on call the very next day. 😂

If that doesn’t demonstrate why vacations usually don’t fix exhaustion, I don’t know what does.

🎙️ A Note from Nikia on Rest (click here to listen)

This trip reminded me that rest is so much bigger than sleep.

I rested physically. Mentally. Emotionally. Spiritually. I connected deeply with others and had time alone. I spent time in nature. I nourished myself from the inside out.

And still...

Two weeks couldn’t undo years of accumulated stress.

Today’s Takeaway

We expect a weekend—or even a week-long vacation—to repair exhaustion that took years to create.

Then we return to our lives and wonder why the rested feeling disappears so quickly.

If I couldn’t undo years of stress in two weeks in Bali, you can’t expect yourself to undo yours in a weekend.

Sit with that.

This Week’s Reflection

Have you ever considered taking an extended solo trip—not just to vacation, but to give yourself enough time and space to remember who you are?

If you have, where would you go?\

This Week’s Experiment

Give yourself 5–10 minutes to daydream. Elaborately.

Where would you go? What would you do? How would your days feel?

What would make you feel the most joyful? The most free? The most like you?

You don’t have to book the flight.

Just give yourself permission to imagine it.

There’s a lot more for me to unpack from Bali, and I’ll share more as I process it.

For now, I’m holding onto this:

Sometimes before we can create a life that feels different, we have to remember what different feels like.
