This one question stopped me in my tracks

Sis,

I was out walking Hugo the other morning, listening to the audiobook version of Stillness, when the chapter on Enoughness made me stop in my tracks.

It made me reflect on two questions:

  1. When will you know you have enough?
  2. When will you feel that you are enough?

At first, I felt curious — like, “Hmm… what an interesting thought.”

Then determined — I need to figure this out.

And finally, after some deep reflection, relieved.

Because the truth is — the answer, at least for me, is this: NOW.

For so long, I stayed in jobs, roles, and even relationships that didn’t just whisper — they told me outright — that I wasn’t enough. That I needed to do more, be more, take on extra, and push harder just to prove my worth.

It’s not just an internal voice that comes out of nowhere. Those beliefs were planted by systems, by people, by expectations that teach us our value is tied to our output.

And over time, we start to embody those messages, repeating them to ourselves until they felt like truth.

But that morning, I looked around. At Hugo happily trotting ahead, at the life I’ve built, at the peace I’ve fought so hard to reclaim. And I realized: I don’t have to do anything else to prove my worth. I am enough, right here, right now.

And here’s the real truth, Sis — this whole idea of “enoughness”? It’s not some magical feeling that lands and never leaves. It’s a decision, you accept it. Even on the days when you can’t feel it — when doubt is loud and the world is telling you to do more — it’s still true. You are still enough.

This week, I want you to try this simple exercise:

  1. Close your eyes for one minute.
  2. Picture what “enough” looks and feels like for you in this season of your life.
  3. Then write down one simple sentence:
    “Enough, for me, is…”

That’s it. No overthinking. No editing. Just a reminder you can come back to anytime you forget.

✨ Hit reply and share your “enough” sentence with me. I’d love to hold space for you. I read every response and would love to cheer you on.
