The Unspoken Struggle— When you’re surrounded…

Hey Sis,

Today’s devotional hit me hard.

The topic? Loneliness.

Not the kind where you’re home alone with nothing to do.

The kind that shows up even when your calendar is full, your inbox is overflowing, and your life is full— overflowing even.

Like your struggle is so specific, so layered, so heavy — no one else would get it.

So you smile.
You keep going.
You tell yourself,

“It’s just a rough patch. I’ll get through it.”
“Other people are dealing with more.”
“I don’t want to burden anyone with this.”

Recently, I’ve had some moments like that. Surrounded but feeling so alone.

Not because there aren’t people who care in my life… but because the thing I’m carrying feels too specific, too complicated, too hard to explain.

So instead of opening up, I I stay quiet. I keep it to myself.

And I know I’m not the only one doing that.

Since the pandemic, loneliness has quietly become an epidemic of its own.

We’re more digitally connected than ever… but emotionally? Not to much. It’s easy to feel disconnected, misaligned, and unseen.

But here’s what I’m learning:

It’s not “too much” to feel lonely. It’s human.

Even when you’re surrounded. Even when you “shouldn’t” feel that way.

Loneliness doesn’t always come from being alone —

Sometimes it comes from not feeling truly seen.

So let me say this loud for the Sis in the back:

Even when you feel lonely—

You are never truly alone.

You are thought of.

You are seen.

You are loved.

And I promise you —

Someone out there understands exactly what you’re going through. Maybe more than you know.

And if you’ve been carrying something heavy lately — silently, secretly — I hope you find the courage to share it.

Whether it’s with a friend, a therapist, a journal, a prayer — or this community.

You don’t have to do this season solo.

There’s a kind of connection waiting on the other side of vulnerability.

A kind of freedom that only shows up after the brave moment when you say it out loud.

You don’t have to do it alone.

I’m right here.

Love you big,

Nikia
